A Cast Iron Petromax Skillet is a handy and extremely multifunctional pan for frying meat, fish and vegetables.

You can easily clean a Skillet with a flat bottom with a smooth Petromax scraper or Petromax scrub. This Skillet has two handy handles so you can easily put it in the oven, on the stove or in a kamado. Of course, do not forget to use good heat-resistant Petromax hand protection. Cast iron pans become and remain extremely hot during and after use.

About Cast Iron. Cast iron is a type of cast steel that absorbs and retains heat well and can withstand very high temperatures. This means that cast iron can be used for many more purposes than steel or wrought iron. For example, a sealed cast iron pan can be used as an oven to bake bread, but is also perfect as a stew pan. Cast iron products have been known for years as sustainable products because they are 100% recyclable and will last a lifetime if you treat them with care.

Cast iron products are traditionally passed on from generation to generation. Cast iron requires proper maintenance, but this is less than you think. Clean your cast iron product thoroughly after use with warm water and a washing-up brush.

Dry your product thoroughly with a tea towel and store it neatly. All Petromax cast iron products have been pretreated several times, also known as “seasoning”. This provides a kind of natural non-stick coating and in many cases prevents rust. If your product does rust, no problem, scrub it well with a wire brush, rinse it and treat it again with the Petromax maintenance wax.
